VMware and arrow keys

I run VMware server 2 with a couple of virtual machines. The experience is mostly positive but there’s a problem that the arrow keys do not work in my VMs through VMware Remote Console Plug-in. Could be due to some issues in X.org (the remote machine that accesses the VM), or could be total something different; just my guess.

Anyway, after a brief search it turned out that just adding a line in /etc/vmware/config:

xkeymap.nokeycodeMap = "TRUE"

restored my keyboard functionality. Back to the virtual world!
