Keeping passwords in sync

To keep Samba passwords in sync with unix passwords under Debian, we just need an extra PAM module: pam_smbpass.

apt-get install libpam-smbpass

Under /etc/pam.d/common-password, add:

password required pam_smbpass.so nullok use_authtok try_first_pass

Done! Password changes using /usr/bin/passwd will now be reflected in Samba.
